Aurélie Nowak, neurofeedback specialist in Málaga

I’m Aurélie

I experienced neurofeedback myself first. That’s what led me to train in it and bring it here.

French by birth and a Málaga local at heart for more than fifteen years. Today I support people who want to get their energy and wellbeing back.

Without medication, without big promises and without waiting until you’re at your lowest to come.

I see you myself, always. From the first message to the last session. No front desk, no one else in my place, no automated replies: when you message on WhatsApp, I reply myself, and I’m with you in every session.

Certified neurofeedback specialist. I can see you in Spanish, French or English.

What happens in a neurofeedback session

At NeuroNowak, my neurofeedback centre in Málaga and La Cala del Moral, I train children, teenagers and adults who come for the usual reasons: they can’t sleep, can’t switch off, can’t concentrate or are running on empty.

Sensors read your brain activity while you listen to music. Each time they detect an abrupt transition, the sound cuts out for an instant, and with that information your brain adjusts on its own. You don’t have to do anything.

I came with anxiety that had worn me out – always on alert, unable to switch off for a moment. To be honest, I didn’t really know what neurofeedback involved, but a friend recommended it and I went for it.»

How we get started

Four steps, with no tie-in and no monthly fee.

  1. 1

You message me and we talk

On WhatsApp, through the form or by phone. I reply myself – there’s no switchboard. In a free 30-minute first conversation, you tell me what brings you here and I tell you honestly whether this is right for you.

  2. 2

You come to your first session

We start by talking: how you sleep, what you find hard, and for how long. From there we get a realistic idea of how many sessions would make sense in your case.

  3. 3

    You train

Once or twice a week. You sit down, I place the sensors and you listen to music. Everyone has their own pace: we keep an eye on how you feel together, session by session.

  4. 4

    You decide

There’s no tie-in and no monthly fee. And if nothing shifts after several sessions, I’ll tell you before you tell me, and we stop.

Questions before you start

Do I need a diagnosis?

No. Plenty of people train without a named reason: because they sleep badly, can’t switch off or want to get their energy back.

What exactly is neurofeedback?

Training for the nervous system. Sensors record your brain’s electrical activity and, when they detect an abrupt transition, the music pauses for a split second. That cue is enough for the brain to adjust on its own. Nothing is sent to it: it simply gets information back about what it has just done.

Does it hurt? Are there side effects?

It doesn’t hurt and has no known side effects. The sensors don’t prick and don’t emit electricity. The most that usually happens is you leave feeling a little sleepy.

How many sessions will I need?

Usually between 10 and 20, once or twice a week. In the 30-minute first conversation I’ll give you a specific estimate for your case, before you pay anything.

Can it be combined with therapy or medication?

Yes, it doesn’t interfere with either. Any change to your medication is decided by whoever prescribed it.

From what age can you train?

From age three, as long as the person can stay settled during the session. Older people and pregnant women can train too.
