FAQ

The questions I get most before the first conversation, in the order they usually come up: what this is, what a session is like, how the process works, whether it’s safe and, finally, how much it costs and how to get started.

What it is, and what it isn’t

What is dynamic neurofeedback?

It’s non-invasive brain training: sensors record your brain’s electrical activity and the system feeds it back to you in real time through tiny interruptions in the music you’re listening to. Your brain uses that information to reorganise itself. No current or stimulus is applied: the sensors only listen.

Is it a therapy or a medical treatment?

No. It’s wellbeing training, not treatment: it doesn’t diagnose, it doesn’t cure illnesses and it doesn’t replace any healthcare professional. The people who come aren’t patients; they’re people who train.

Who will I see?

Me, Aurélie. Always. The 30-minute first conversation, every session and the follow-up are done by me personally, in Spanish, French or English. No one else in my place and no automated replies.

Do I need a diagnosis to start?

No. No prior diagnosis needed, and no report or referral either. It’s enough that something isn’t working the way you’d like: sleeping, switching off, concentrating or feeling calmer.

Why do people come?

Mostly because they sleep badly, because their mind won’t switch off or because they’ve been under sustained stress for a while. Also for concentration, performance at work or in sport, and mental clarity. Many people come for more than one reason at once. You’ll find each reason explained in how I can help.

Who can train?

Anyone able to stay still and relaxed for about 33 minutes: children from around three years old, teenagers, adults, older people and pregnant women.

What a session is like

What is the first session like?

We start with a conversation about what brings you here and what you’d like to change. Then you sit in a comfortable armchair, I place a few sensors on your scalp and small clips on your ears, and you listen to music for 33 minutes. In total it takes about 50 minutes.

Does it hurt or feel like anything?

No. The sensors are held in place with a conductive paste and only record; you won’t feel any tingling or current. The paste wipes off with a tissue at the end.

Do I have to do anything during the session?

No. You don’t have to concentrate or do anything right: just listen. If you fall asleep, the session works just the same.

Which languages do you work in?

In Spanish, French and English.

The process

How often do I need to come?

Usually one or two sessions a week. Spacing them out more makes the process longer, and coming more often doesn’t speed it up.

How many sessions are needed?

Every brain has its own pace, so I don’t work to fixed timeframes. Many people notice something in the first sessions, and to consolidate the changes a programme of 10 to 20 is usual.

How do I know if it’s working?

You notice it in your day-to-day life: how you sleep, how you react, how hard it is to switch off. Plus, after each session we note down how you’re feeling, and you can follow your progress in your private area on the website.

And what if I don’t notice anything?

Sometimes the changes are subtle or appear where you weren’t expecting them. If there are no changes after several sessions, I’ll tell you and we’ll talk it through calmly, without dragging anything out.

Do the changes last?

Yes, they tend to last, because they’re something your brain learns. During more demanding periods, the occasional maintenance session is a good idea, even if you’re feeling fine.

Safety and compatibility

Does it have side effects?

It’s non-invasive training without medication. In the first sessions some people notice tiredness, a mild headache or feeling more emotional, and it passes on its own. If it happens to you, we talk about it and adjust.

Can I train if I’m taking medication?

Yes, the training doesn’t interfere with medication. Any change to it is always decided by your doctor, never by me.

Can it be combined with psychotherapy or other treatments?

Yes. Because it’s training and not treatment, it’s compatible with psychotherapy, medication and other kinds of support.

Price, location and booking

How much does it cost?

The full 20-session programme costs €840 (€42 per session) and the 10-session starter programme €460 (€46 per session). A single session costs €60. If you feel hesitant about starting, the discovery session, first time only, costs €35. The 30-minute first conversation is free. You’ll find everything in pricing and packages.

Where are you?

In Málaga, in Cerrado de Calderón, and in La Cala del Moral, always by appointment. When you book, I’ll give you the exact address. If you’re coming from further away, message me and we’ll arrange a time that makes the journey worthwhile.

How do I get started?

Message me on WhatsApp on 650 596 740 and we’ll find a slot for a 30-minute first conversation, free and with no commitment. If you’re already a client, you can book your sessions from your private area.
